Alex Bregman Signs with New York Yankees

Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has agreed to a five-year, $100 million contract with the New York Yankees.

Bregman, 28, was a key member of the Astros' 2017 World Series championship team and has been one of the most productive third basemen in baseball over the past several seasons.

In 2022, Bregman batted .259 with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs. He also led the Astros in walks and on-base percentage.

Bregman's signing is a significant addition for the Yankees, who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2022 season. The Yankees finished 99-63, but lost to the Houston Astros in the ALCS.

Bregman will give the Yankees a much-needed boost in the infield. He is a solid defender at third base and can also play shortstop or second base.

Bregman's signing also gives the Yankees a potent lineup. He will join Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Anthony Rizzo in the middle of the order.

The Yankees are now considered one of the favorites to win the World Series in 2023. They have a strong lineup, a solid starting rotation, and a deep bullpen.

The Astros, meanwhile, will have to find a replacement for Bregman at third base. Yordan Alvarez is a possible option, but he has never played third base before.

The Astros could also trade for a third baseman. Some possible targets include Eugenio Suarez of the Seattle Mariners and Brandon Drury of the Cincinnati Reds.

Regardless of who replaces Bregman, the Astros will have a tough time replacing his production. He is one of the best all-around players in baseball.
