Cardinals Win 6-0

The Cardinals defeated the Guardians 6-0 on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. Miles Mikolas pitched six scoreless innings for the Cardinals, while Nolan Gorman and Juan Yepez each homered.

The Guardians managed just four hits off Mikolas, who struck out seven batters and walked one. Gorman gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a solo home run off Guardians starter Cal Quantrill.

Yepez made it 3-0 in the second inning with a solo homer of his own. The Cardinals added three more runs in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Paul Goldschmidt, an RBI single by Lars Nootbaar, and a wild pitch by Guardians reliever Sam Hentges.

Mikolas Shines

Mikolas was dominant on the mound for the Cardinals, allowing just four hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven batters and improved his record to 12-13 on the season.

Mikolas has been one of the Cardinals' most consistent pitchers this season, with a 3.27 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 32 starts.

He has also been a key part of the Cardinals' bullpen, making five relief appearances this season.

Gorman and Yepez Provide Power

Gorman and Yepez provided the Cardinals with some much-needed power on Tuesday night.

Gorman hit a solo home run in the first inning, and Yepez added a solo homer of his own in the second inning.

Gorman is now hitting .252 with 19 home runs and 60 RBIs on the season. Yepez is hitting .255 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs.
